Development Communication, Applied Theatre and Applied Cinema in Cameroon

ANELE Michael OBIE was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The fourth in a polygamous family of 14 children, he was schooled in Central Government Primary School, Yaound é  w h e r e he obtained his First School Leaving Certifi cate. He attended two boarding secondary schools: World Wide Mission Secondary School (WWMSS), Mpundu and Baptist High School (BHS), Buea, respectively, before moving to Lycée Bilingue d’Essos, Yaoundé, where he obtained his Ordinary and Advanced Level GCE Certifi cates in 1995 and 1997, respectively. After a BA in Performing and Visual Arts in 2001 at the University of Yaoundé I, he pursued a Master's in Film Criticism from the same university and obtained a PhD in Applied Cinema.
 
He teaches Literature and Research Methodology in the Department of English Modern Letters (Higher Teacher Training College, Bambili) and Film Criticism and Applied Cinema in the Department of Performing and Visual Arts (Faculty of Arts), at the University of Bamenda. He is married and a father of three.
